Who wants to build that up from scratch? It took ten years to reach that point, and there doesn't seem to be much point in copy and pasting thousands of games when it's already out there.

To be honest, it seems like they would be more successful if they turn themselves into something different than BGG; perhaps less user content and more "professional" content. It would still be competition, but it would provide something different.Crank Crank Revolutionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06969841164975998966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-327484429725532216.post-1729677802245256612011-01-08T00:32:24.183-08:002011-01-08T00:32:24.183-08:00I've started contributing to BGI a bit, not be...I've started contributing to BGI a bit, not because I find it that much better/easier than Boardgamegeek, but because maybe some competition will make both sites get better.Erik Melanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04012821466952693547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-327484429725532216.post-83710106793718022862011-01-07T17:41:41.392-08:002011-01-07T17:41:41.392-08:00I've registered, but right now I'm just no...I've registered, but right now I'm just not that interested in the site. I expect that will change over time, since that's how it was with BGG for the longest time (I think I took two years after registering before my first post on the site).

I'd love if it became successful since that'd mean both sites would need to push themselves in order to stay in the hunt. It's like being caught in the middle of a price war - the consumer reaps the benefits with the stores unable to simply see how much the market can bear.Wind Lanenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-327484429725532216.post-39129031577075020442011-01-06T05:39:46.187-08:002011-01-06T05:39:46.187-08:00If only the whole thing was done in Comic Sans. To me good graphic design is good user interface design, which is functionality and aesthetics perfectly combined. Unfortunately these days graphic design is all too often just considered a thin layer of icing on the cake instead of an essential ingredient.

Line spaces between paragraphs would be a good start ...Universal Headhttp://www.headlesshollow.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-327484429725532216.post-56537274933986758562011-01-05T21:20:13.059-08:002011-01-05T21:20:13.059-08:00OK, yes, but in all fairness, the site was sort of...OK, yes, but in all fairness, the site was sort of prematurely launched.
